Our fruity, sweet and sour chicken with tangerines and fresh crunchy vegetables is not a feast for the eyes. The perfect Asian dish with rice and crispy bits.

Chicken and fruit go very well together. Our Asian-inspired chicken breast with tangerines and fresh vegetables is proof!

Ingredients for 4 people:

  • 500 g of chicken breast
  • 1 can of tangerines
  • 1 bunch of onions
  • 1 yellow pepper
  • 1 red pepper
  • 4 small carrots
  • 3 tablespoons Asian sweet and sour sauce
  • 1 spoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 100 ml of chicken stock
  • Cayenne, according to your wishes and tastes
  • salt pepper
  • oil for frying

Approximately per serving:

  • 290 calories
  • 16 grams of carbohydrates
  • 27 grams of protein
  • 3.8 grams of fat

And this is how it is done:

  1. First cut the fillets into strips. Drain the tangerines except for 1 tablespoon of juice. Chop the vegetables.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the chicken strips for two minutes, pepper and salt. When they have a little color, remove them from the pan and leave them aside.
  3. Now fry the vegetables for about 2-3 minutes, mix with the sauces and tangerine juice and boil a little. Stir in the cornstarch.
  4. Now add the stock and let everything boil. After a few minutes, reduce the heat to low and let the chicken simmer. Add the tangerines and season with cayenne, pepper and salt.
  5. You can serve it with rice and delicious spring rolls. A quick, healthy meal.
