Cooking rice in the microwave – in 4 steps
If you want to cook rice in the microwave, the best way to do it is as follows:
1. Wash the rice
Place the desired amount of rice in a microwave-safe bowl or container and run the rice under hot water several times to wash or loosen any dirt.

2. Add water to the rice
Now add twice the amount of water to the rice and place the bowl in the microwave.
3. Put on the microwave
Now put the microwave on 700 watts for 15 minutes. Depending on the microwave, the cooking time may now vary slightly, so it is important to adjust this in the next step.
4. Mix in between
The rice should be mixed well in between, this reduces sticking to the surface and ensures more even cooking. Then adjust the remaining cooking time if necessary.

General tips for cooking rice
Cooking rice in the microwave is particularly suitable for preparing small quantities of rice. However, the rice can also be cooked in advance without any problem. The easiest way to do this is in a rice cooker (view on Amazon / AD). Cooked rice can be kept in the refrigerator for about 2 to 3 days and can be reheated in various ways at any time during this time. If you want to prepare it even better, you can also freeze the rice in portions. Freshly cooked rice that has been frozen immediately can be kept for several months without any problems.
