If you want to make it especially good – like grandma used to do back then – you have to boil a whole chicken (preferably a corn-fed chicken). Because then you not only have the perfect meat for the salad, but you also get a delicious broth – for example as a base for a delicious chicken soup.

But if you don’t have time, we recommend a simple trick: buy ready-made fried chicken, which is often found in supermarket carts. Roasted flavors give your salad a very special kick. It is very tasty!

Grandma’s chicken salad with tangerines, cherries and celery – recipe
You need it
250 g Miracle Whip, 30 g mandarin juice from strained fruit, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 450-500 g chicken (cut into 1-2 cm pieces), 150 g canned or jar drained mushrooms, cut into slices or small whole or drained, 150 grams. asparagus in a jar (cut into pieces 1 to 2 centimeters long), 100 grams of celery (cleaned and cut into strips), 100 grams of canned mandarins drained (halved), 100 grams of cherries in a jar.
This is how it is done
Place the miracle whip in a bowl. Then pour the mandarin juice and lemon juice into the glass, screw and shake vigorously. The liquid mixture is now also in the bowl. Mix everything thoroughly and season with salt and pepper. Don’t be too careful with the spices!
Now gradually add all the mentioned ingredients to the sauce. Please mix the ingredients carefully and only with a plastic spoon or even a silicone spatula. The ingredients should not be too mixed.
Then put the salad in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours and let it rest. It could be a few more hours. The salad keeps well chilled for about two days. Be sure to stir again before serving.
