Edible Flower Tomato Cake Recipe | NDR.de – Guide

Ingredients for the dough:

Put the flour, butter, quark and egg in a bowl and mix well. Season with salt and nutmeg. Roll out the dough using a rolling pin and place in a buttered pan. Press the rim slightly upwards and pierce it a few times with a fork. Cool in the refrigerator for 20 minutes. Heat the oven to 180 degrees. Place the peas in the batter and blind bake for about 17 minutes until golden brown. Allow the base to cool in the pan and remove the peas.

Ingredients for sun-dried tomatoes:

Cut the tomatoes into quarters or halves depending on their size. Pour the oil into a pan and carefully coat the tomatoes on it. Season with salt and sugar. Dry slowly in the oven at 100 degrees for about 2 hours.

Ingredients for the tomato filling:

Peel and finely dice the onions. Melt the camelina oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Put the onions in the pot and fry. Mix the boiled onions with the dried tomatoes, adjust them according to taste and put them at the end.

Ingredients for the sour cream filling:

Finely chop the herbs. Mix the eggs and sour sauce and season with salt. Pour over the tomatoes. Bake the cake at 170 degrees for about 40 minutes. Let it cool and cut it into cake pieces.

serving:

Place the tomato cake in the middle of the plates and decorate it with flowers.
